We are currently seeking an Associate Director to join our multi-award winning and growing Trust and Private office business in Jersey.
About the role
The successful candidate will report to the Client Director and will work with several complex clients, managing their own portfolio and ensuring a high quality service delivery (personally and through delegation within the team). They will also be a leader and line manager for the team.
The ideal candidate will be confident, decisive, and working on multiple strands of activity at the same time. In support of the Client Director, they will ensure all elements of trust management are executed to the highest quality and at the pace requested.
Key responsibilities include:
- To deliver a high-quality support service to the administration team in a timely and efficient manner, working with the Client Director to deliver a valued service to a portfolio of clients and leading the wider team.
- Work with other functional experts (including Legal Counsel; Book-keeping; client accountants and Client Directors) to ensure whole team delivery of effective and efficient support to the trusts and companies.
- Provide line management and leadership, support, coaching, performance management to the team and ensure the Client Director is well informed and consulted.
- Ensure the profitability delivery of the trust and fiduciary services based on time recording, appropriate billing, and recoverability (in partnership with the Client Director) which will include quantitative and qualitative performance and revenue/ margin expectations, with particular responsibility for timely completion of time sheets, billing, collection of debtors.
- Assume directorships where appropriate and act as personal director to client entities within own portfolio.
- Oversee and communicate reporting to clients and their advisors, in person (as required) as well as through usual communication channels.
- Ensure that all business is conducted within the rules, guidelines and expectations of the JFSC. To follow all applicable internal compliance considerations and appropriate processes, policies, and procedures.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Expertise in handling the breadth of client demands and requirements in Trust administration space, knowing what is required by the client and ensuring it is delivered (personally or through team delegation)
- Sound understanding of accounting, commercial law and asset management principles
- In depth knowledge of all aspects of company and trust administration including nuances and statutory requirements of the major offshore jurisdictions used in connection with clients’ structures
- Regulatory knowledge and understanding of the rules, guidelines and expectations of the local regulator (JFSC)
- Commercial and financial knowledge– able to evaluate, identify material risk; knowledge of finance, accounting and budgets and how these impact one another
- A team player attitude who is willing to “roll their sleeves up”.
- Strong client relationship management skills – understanding clients’ needs and wishes, and ensure long-term sustainable relationship is built
- People and leadership skills to include coaching, mentoring and developing others
- Organised, accurate, prepared to take ownership of tasks, delegate where appropriate and follow through to completion, managing own time
- Approachable, trustworthy and dependable individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills (written/ verbal/ presentation)
- Ability to identify and manage any relevant business risks and issues
- Ability to see the big picture but still pay attention to accuracy and detail
- Flexibility and ability to modify behaviour or goals when opportunities or problems arise
- Innovative/entrepreneurial – actively creates, seeks and recognises possibilities of innovation, new opportunities or improving services
