Client Accountant

We are currently seeking a full-time Client Accountant to join us in Mauritius.

About the role

The Client Accountant delivers accounting services for trusts and companies across Mauritius and international offices, acting as the technical expert on accounting standards. The role ensures high‑quality financial statements and maintains accurate, up‑to‑date accounting records through timely posting and reconciliation of transactions in client general ledgers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with the Accounting and Client Relationship teams to ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of accounting services within agreed budgets and procedures.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of all clients within the team’s portfolio.
  • Records, posts, and updates accurate accounting data in client general ledgers, using both manual entries and system interfaces.
  • Completes periodic bookkeeping, reconciliations, and suspense‑item clearance on time and in line with policies.
  • Sets up, processes, and closes entities in the accounting system, and performs any additional accounting tasks as required.

About you

  • Working towards a professional qualification and minimum of ACCA Level 2.
  • 3 years’ experience in offshore management company.
  • Prior Trust accounting exposure is mandatory.
  • Have a reasonable knowledge of international accounting practices and principles as applied in the offshore industry.
  • Be fully conversant with both manual and computerised accounting systems (preferably Business Central) and possess a good knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
  • Appreciation of the general principles of Trust and Company Law and practice.
